Pros & Cons

  • The people that work at the company. Not only at store but corporate throughout the organisation at every level. Everyone is accessible and willing to assist you throughout your journey.
  • Everyone at work is a team player. Everyone is happy to help one another grow and excel in all areas. At Harvey Norman, it's all about the people
  • The go getter attitude that a lot of people have. The Harvey Norman way that throws people in the deep end and that expects them to succeed. The hard working people in the company. The brand the name it carries.
  • Massive opportunities for career development. An environment that has the benefits of a small business (flexibility & close relationships) but is not constrained like a small business - capital, branding, suppliers and advertising of a multinational
  • Opportunities are available for staff working at any level in the business to be able to earn their own franchise. And when a customer walks out of the shop happy with their purchase is always satisfying.
  • Every experience provides an opportunity to learn and grow whether it be positive or negative.
  • You work retail hours so shopping can be quite hard after.
  • Sometimes the long hours and having to work on public holidays.
  • Understaffed

Dress code is very formal. There are uniforms for the company, and there is no such office space. The staff can use any POS terminal to conduct sales.
