In 2022, Winslow embarked on a journey with talented Indigenous artist, Jenna Oldaker, to create a signature Indigenous artwork that reflected foundations that are dear to Winslow, particularly the Winslow Family value, connection with our community, and the importance of teamwork.

Winslow designed a ‘special edition’ hoodie that is based on the Winslow’s indigenous artwork and was made available for purchase by our employees, their families and our community partners.

The hoodie was launched during NAIDOC Week 2022 and sales of the hoodie raised a total of $22,610.00 and all proceeds were donated by Winslow employees to Ganbina.

Position Promo supplied the hoodies. They are an independent, Aboriginal-owned and operated company dedicated to elite standards and best practice in the supply of promotional merchandise and apparel.

Winslow's Social Procurement commitment

Winslow recognises our social responsibilities as being fundamental to our long-term sustainability and growth. Social value is part of Winslow’s DNA and diversity is an integral part of Winslow’s history, culture, and identity and has always been, since the start of business operations in the 1980s.

Winslow’s Social Procurement Policy provides opportunities to keep strengthening the communities in which we work by way of generating social value through our extensive supply chain.

We are recognised leaders in social procurement in the civil construction industry because we choose carefully who we partner with and how we deliver projects.

Our three-pronged social procurement strategy means we engage social enterprises, disability enterprises, and/or Aboriginal/Indigenous businesses, through sustainable social value activities.

We achieve strong sustainable social value outcomes in partnership with the community, our clients, and stakeholders in an ethical and responsible manner.

Supporting Indigenous Employment

As standard practice and as part of our social procurement process, Winslow actively supports Indigenous enterprises through both direct and indirect employment.

These relationships play a fundamental role in recruitment, training, and development of all employees and we are committed to maintaining high-quality strategies and processes around Indigenous employment and development.

Specifically, by having inclusive and flexible workplace policies, fair- and non-biased processes for recruitment and promotions opportunities, cultural training for all staff members, and working closely with Indigenous and community groups.

Supporting Indigenous Procurement

Winslow is always looking to stimulate Indigenous entrepreneurship and business development, by providing Indigenous Australians with more opportunities to engage with us either directly or indirectly with the outcome of driving sustainable growth for First Nations businesses.

Winslow already has regular Supply Nation-endorsed suppliers and refers to the Supply Nation database for suitable partners where appropriate, such as new work in new locations and new material/service requirements that our business needs from time to time.
