The Xero grad program

Working for Xero is about so much more than a job. It’s an opportunity for you to find your voice and fuel your passion.

We know what it takes to help you do the best work of your life, and we’ll invest in you to ensure you get there.

With the Xero grad program, you’ll learn on the job, take ownership of your work, and find out how your career can flourish.

You’ll get the flexibility to build your skills, the opportunity to push yourself professionally, and the support you need to bring your ideas to fruition.

The graduate program starts in February and runs for 12 months. After the program, you’re guaranteed a permanent position in line with your career aspirations.

Find your perfect role here at Xero. Shape your future with the Xero grad program.

Learn on the job

You’ll learn amazing technical skills and people skills in the Xero grad program. So, whether you know how you want your career to develop, or whether you want to explore your options, we’ll help you get there.

The Xero grad program is your way into a global company with a start-up mentality. Start your career with others in the same boat, have the support of a structured program, and be mentored by the best in the industry.

Working with us

The grad program is a permanent role at Xero. After completing the grad year, you’ll be promoted to the next stage of your chosen career path. For our 2022 grad program, we’re looking for people to join our technical and design programs and make their mark on one of New Zealand’s leading tech companies.

If you want to navigate your way into a career as an engineer, security specialist, data specialist or Salesforce developer, the technical grad program is the place for you. Technical grads complete four rotations consisting of three months each. You’ll work with teams across the business in your chosen field and get an opportunity to diversify your skills and meet new people.

Design programs at Xero include roles in our product design and digital design teams. This year, we’re hiring for roles in product design, design research, and a production coordinator in the media team.

Given the specialist nature of the roles, you’ll spend the entire program with the same team working on different projects and building up your skillset to progress your career in your chosen field.

Our grad program is run in Wellington and Auckland. No matter which office you’re in, you'll have bottomless coffee, free fruit, a flexible work environment and amazing teammates.

Take ownership of your career

Join the Xero grad program and we'll work together to find out what it is that makes you tick, and how your career can flourish.

We hire grads from a diverse range of backgrounds, from those straight out of uni to those who already have a few careers under their belt. Hear from some of our past and current grads to find out where they started, where they are now, and how Xero helped them get there.
