Kapitol Group has a very positive company-wide work culture with an emphasis on work-life balance, transparency/communication between different departments or site teams and ensuring all levels of the company structure subscribe to the company values. As part of a site team, the majority of socializing with colleagues is at a site level, but Kapitol does provide opportunities to mix outside of site teams such as through Yammer (internal company-wide 'social network'), regular work events/workshops during work hours and opportunities for out of hours events such as team dinners/activities.

Kapitol is an industry leader in removing the male-dominated connotations within the industry, they do not discriminate on diversity and hire those who are best fit for the role.

My role currently involves on-site work which includes defect management, process management, interaction with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers etc. I also take on a cadet role in the estimating department which involves using different types of software to formulate cost plans and measurements.

My on-site managers are amazing to work with, constantly providing me with feedback and engaging me in different roles on the project. Quarterly performance reviews are held to reflect on performance and provide more formal feedback.

Onsite office and amenities are the best I've experienced in the industry and head office has just had a renovated fit-out that is welcoming and comfortable. A longs-longs policy exists whereby you are required to wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt onsite, Kapitol provides all employees with company attire but you are also allowed to wear suitable non-branded company attire

The interview process consisted of multiple interviews, ranging from online and face to face. I was introduced to multiple interviewers who gave me insights into Kapitol's values and visions which was great

I am paid fairly for my position.

Kapitol provides regular graduate soft skill and technical skill training with monthly forums/ workshops. Kapitol also provides opportunities to upskill with training such as First Aid Certificates, Scaffold awareness training, etc.

Kapitol is unique in the construction industry as they promote/enforce 10-day work fortnights. This means I almost never have to work weekends, and if necessary to work a weekend I am awarded a weekday off the following week. They are also promoting 50-hour work weeks to ensure employees don't work excessive hours.
