How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Very flexible. Enter and leave at any time between 6:30am and 6pm.
Intern, Perth
I would like to be able to spend more time in the greenhouse and labs and less time in the office, however I expect that this will happen as my research project progresses
Intern, Adelaide
Full time basis. However, time management is entirely up to me. Working remotely is also an option.
Intern, Brisbane
The company is extremely flexible in terms of working hours. So long as we work for the required daily time we are able to start/finish whenever we choose each day. Additionally, ensuring my supervisor is notified the day before I am able to work from home as often or as little as I choose.

9-5, 5 days a week. CSIRO is extremely flexible with work hours, including taking leave, leaving early, starting late and working from home.
Intern, Newcastle
Company seems flexible - I tend to arrive earlier than everyone else, but I feel weird about leaving early, so I think I naturally overwork myself a bit.
Graduate, Sydney
I work the general 9-5, Monday-Friday. The company is very flexible with working around life commitments, as long as you get the work done. You're welcome to start early and end early, or start late and end late to suit, within the 7am-7pm timeframe. My colleagues respect each other and work together to find the most suitable times for collaboration.

Pretty flexible starting and leaving hours. Possible to work from home as well
Intern, Melbourne
37 hours a week and it is completely up to me how I spread those hours apart. It is very flexible and gives you independence to choose what works for you
Intern, Brisbane
We are expected to work a standard 36 hour week (essentially a 9-5 role). However, CSIRO offer flexible work hours, so my start and finish times can be adjusted to my preference. I also have the ability to work from home if I'd like, and am free to attend any personal appointments during the day/standard working hours, assuming I make up this time on another day.
Graduate, Townsville
The work hours a very flexible, and the Christmas blackout period is nice.
Intern, Bribane
Roughly 9 to 4:30 everyday with a lunch break. The company is flexible with work hours as long as the necessary requirement is met.
Intern, Townsville
8.30am - 5pm. My hours are flexible as I am working remotely. I start my day at 9am and finish work at 5.30pm
Intern, Herston
I have a contract for a set number of hours each week based on typical 9-5 working hours however I have the flexibility to meet those how I see fit. I can also work from home if I prefer.
Intern, Newcastle
The company is very flexible when it comes to work hours. If you are working on a project in a team it is best to be there in person to make communication easier. But realistically you can work from home pretty often if your team decides that you don't need to meet that often, or you are working on robots (can't really take those home).
Intern, Brisbane
I was asked how many days a week I wanted to do and my supervisor just said ok! I do roughly 7 hours and 30 minutes of work a day
Intern, Sydney
Quite flexible.
Intern, Hobart
Very flexible - come in to do what we need to do
Graduate, Canberra
Most of the emphasis is on the work done, rather than the hours spent, so it is common for people to come in early or leave late. There is still an expectation that you be available for the main business hours, or provide notice if you are not available for whatever reason. As most of the workers are very passionate about the work they do, it is also common for people to come in early or stay after hours to get their work done. The organisation is also open to working from home, although depending on the job being worked on, it may not always be possible to be completed from home.
Intern, Melbourne
Normal days are 8:30-5pm, but hours are relatively flexible (I can come in early and leave early for example, so long as I'm working the same hours)
