My job as an engineer is to help get a design as close to perfect as possible.

Amy Ha studied ​a ​Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) ​at University of New South Wales in 2016, and is now a Commercial Graduate at Laing O'Rourke.

My team had a debrief on what went well and what needs to be improved after the multiple issues encountered during the day. We came up with a good plan to mitigate some of the issues moving forward which will be implemented tomorrow.

As an engineer, I like to critically analyze the designs and the plan we execute on the ground, whether it is the drill and blast designs or the mining method the excavator is executing.

Kenny Lim graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) from The University of New South Wales in 2016 and is now an Assistant Project Manager at TSA Management.

Luca Mosole completed his Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University in 2022 and is now a Graduate Engineer with BMD in Western Australia. No two days are ever the same in his role, and the following profile provides a general snapshot of what his day may involve.

I start working on a list of actions and tasks. Some tasks include procurement, reviewing shop drawings, reviewing samples, and chasing up subcontractors and consultants for submissions or information.

I process the dig blocks for the next ore shot with the appropriate software, prepare the ore hygiene reports, and block and weekly reconciliations.
