As a team, we are not just co-workers but also friends. We can have conversations around non-work-related topics or difficulties and It allows us to check In with one another when we might be having a bad day or even just for a catch up which is amazing.

A university degree is just a stepping stone to your first job and there will always be an opportunity to branch out with various experiences.

Cochlear builds devices that help people to hear and I am responsible for developing some of the code that lives on those devices.

I work in the Maritime Department which means that the day-to-day code I write might eventually end up on one of the ships in the Royal Australian Navy. How cool is that!

Early on, start looking into internships and graduate programs. The more you’re able to get involved in these things, the better.

You don’t know anything (yet), there’s still so much to learn after university – that’s just about getting a framework. There’s so much expertise in industry that isn’t in your textbooks!
