There is a tension between conceptual purity and pragmatic implementation of statistics that must be negotiated and interpreted by the analyst, which I find both challenging and interesting.

As a structural engineer, I am responsible for the safety of people who are the end users of my designs.

At university you’re surrounded by many opportunities and influential, intellectual people to learn from. Use these resources and gain as much experience as you can.

Everyone I have worked with throughout my time has been so warm, welcoming and will always offer their help when you need it. I find that this has made my experience as a Graduate that much more enjoyable.

Don’t be afraid to go for roles you wouldn’t typically go for – you won’t know if you enjoy something until you try it, and where you end up can be very different than what you originally planned.

My current area of work, Review and Dispute Resolution (‘RDR’) engages early with clients to try to resolve disputes without the need for costly litigation.

If I could offer some advice to grads, I’d suggest they try everything and say yes to every opportunity — you never know where you may end up!
