Your role

About Fixed Income Research:

The 10-week Fixed Income Research Summer Analyst Program features a week of classroom training, followed by rotations across various desks such as Corporate Credit and Emerging Markets. Participants receive practical training and collaborate on meaningful projects, benefiting from a dynamic learning environment, networking events, a Senior Management Speaker Series, and a robust mentorship program.

Role and responsibilities:

• Develop investment recommendations on fixed-income securities through the study of market fundamentals and technical research.
• Helping develop models to identify short-term asset-class disconnects in real-time.
• Working on longer-term asset allocation challenges (e.g. the optimal way to generate a 3% return over inflation).
• Assisting with the day-to-day production of research content.
• Analysts will be given a specific project during each rotation focusing on anything from developing and pitching a trade idea to creating new valuation and trading models. The project will be presented to the research team at the end of each rotation.

Training, development & rotations

Fixed Income Research Summer Analysts at Morgan Stanley rotate across desks like Corporate Credit and Emerging Markets, starting with a one-day orientation to the firm's operations. The program includes division-specific training in Research and Sales & Trading, focusing on essential skills, daily market updates, and fundamental product knowledge.

The expected base pay rate for the role will be $52.89 per hour.

• You are pursuing an undergraduate degree with a graduation date of December 2025 or Spring 2026.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Basic knowledge of and a keen interest in finance and markets.
