Your role

As an Intern, you’ll get to work on real projects from your first day, develop and utilise new skills, explore interesting fields and do challenging work while building your professional network.

As part of the Summer Internship Program, you will:

  • Take part in orientation with your fellow interns.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops designed to help you develop useful skills as you start your professional career.
  • Be assigned a buddy and mentor to guide you through your internship.
  • Be eligible to be fast-tracked to our Graduate Program.

  • Accounting (Sydney)
    • Support the growth of Macquarie by contributing to our teams delivering financial management and control advice, management reporting and forecasting, regulatory and tax reporting and business advisory.
  • Asset Management (Sydney)
    • Play a role in managing assets like electricity networks, renewable energy platforms and farms or help to invest in hospitals, aged-care facilities and other essential businesses.
  • Corporate operations, strategy and projects (Sydney)
    • Be part of driving the operational effectiveness of Macquarie, help curate workplace experiences and empower us to be innovative.
  • Equities research, M&A, advisory, treasury and markets (Sydney, Melbourne & Perth)
    • Gain exposure to how we advise businesses on mergers or acquisitions, support teams that trade essential commodities or work in treasury contributing to funding, capital and advisory services.
  • Retail banking (All locations)
    • Gain real customer-focused experience, helping people purchase a home, start a business or manage their finances.
  • Risk (Sydney)

Requirements

  • You are eager to learn, keen to roll up your sleeves and contribute from day one.
  • You are in your penultimate year of study.
  • You are available to work from November 2023 – February 2024.
  • You demonstrate strong academic performance. 
  • Involvement in extra-curricular and community activities is highly regarded.
