LGBTQ+ at Grant Thornton

At Grant Thornton supporting and empowering the full spectrum of individuality is important. They know by creating a culture were all people feel included and safe builds strong, innovative and productive teams. 

By creating a respectful and inclusive environment, continuing to develop consciously inclusive leaders and by actively supporting the LGBTI+ community they are creating a workplace where their people can bring their whole selves to work and thrive. 

Grant Thornton have explicitly called out LGBTI+ inclusion in the following policies:

  • Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and Guidelines
  • Parental Leave Policy
  • Leave Policy
  • Employee Assistance Program Policy
  • Family and Domestic Violence (under review)
  • Gender affirmation policy (in creation)

Commitment  to supporting LBGTI+ employees:

  • All benefits are inclusive of all team members, including LGBTI+ families and relationships where applicable. Specifically, Grant Thornton’s partnership with Assure Programs, as part of their PEAK Mental Health and Wellbeing program, includes a broad range of services including counselling, positive psychology coaching, and holistic wellbeing services. This benefit is available for all employees and their immediate family members at no cost. All Assure Programs counsellors are aware of the challenges faced by LGBTI+ people in the workplace.
  • All Grant Thornton team members have the opportunity to provide pronouns on their email signature and may also show their support for the LGBTI+ community through rainbow lanyards or rainbow access card stickers.
  • By end Jan 2022 all Grant Thornton offices will have All Gender bathrooms available
  • PRISM is Grant Thornton’s LGBTI+ & Allies employee network which exists to provide a platform of support for their LGBTI+ employee community and their allies with the aim of creating an inclusive workplace where their people feel they can bring their whole selves to work. The focus of the network is to promote a respectful, supportive and equitable culture and to work collectively to increase the visibility of LGBTI+ initiatives.   • Through the PRISM intranet page Grant Thornton provides their people with access to training resources, LGBTI+ awareness training and LGBTI+ support resources
  • PRISM actively advocates for the LGBTI+ community and supports public events which all Grant Thornton team members can attend.
