Cattleya Mai

I usually choose to work on tasks that involve collaboration with some of the Hong Kong team as they have officially settled into their working day. This also means it is a good time for meetings such as my team's daily stand-up or even some training sessions that are regularly provided.

8:00 AM

At 8.00 am, I'm on the train heading towards the office, usually doing some light reading.

9:00 AM

I have arrived in the office by 9 and start off my work day by checking my emails and responding to any outstanding messages or issues from the previous day.

I then monitor and verify any new changes to automations I've written as they are often deployed overnight to start the next day.

10:00 AM

After the routine tasks are done, I get to work on my project or any tasks assigned in the sprint. I spend a bit of time writing tests for new features or improving existing features I'm working on in the trader automation script framework that my team manages, ensuring they do not break any current implementation.

I also keep an eye on the trader automation production chat once it nears 9.00 am in Hong Kong to be ready to help if there are any production issues.

12:00 PM

For lunch, I sometimes bring food from home to eat in the kitchen or go out to buy lunch. During this time, I enjoy catching up with my coworkers from other teams to get a glimpse of what they do in their day.

If I have some time left, I like to walk around the city a bit just to stretch my legs after sitting or standing at my desk all morning.

1:00 PM

After lunch, I get stuck in development work and providing support to the users or authors of trader automations via my team's helpdesk when I'm on the rota.

At this time, I usually choose to work on tasks that involve collaboration with some of the Hong Kong team as they have officially settled into their working day. This also means it is a good time for meetings such as my team's daily stand-up or even some training sessions that are regularly provided.

4:30 PM

I grab some afternoon tea with some fruit just to snack on as the day quietens down a bit.

Also, as the Australian market has closed, if needed, I'll try to catch any of the traders to help with testing in-progress automation or updating them on any new changes to logic that impact them.

6:00 PM

After work, I enjoy playing badminton or a game of table tennis with my coworkers.
