About Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS)

Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) is Australia's foreign intelligence collection agency. The company collects and distributes secret foreign intelligence, information which would be otherwise unavailable to Australia, to protect Australia and its interests. They obtain this intelligence from foreign sources, outside Australia's borders. To do this, they rely on what they call "human intelligence" - information that comes directly from people.

Your role

You’ll start as a permanent employee. You’ll complete a rotational program to help you to learn about different parts of the Organisation that will give you a strong understanding of the business of intelligence. The types of rotations and training and development opportunities you complete will depend on which graduate stream you choose.

This year ASIS is offering three graduate streams:

  • Generalist/Intelligence Support Stream
    • Working in a corporate team will see you as an enabler of an international workforce performing specialized operations overseas. Roles range from Human Resources or Learning and Development to placements in Security, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Technical Stream
    • A career ASIS technologist collects analysis and enables the secure communication of vital information and intelligence to inform the highest level of government decision-makers. The most difficult technical challenges demand diversity of thought, teamwork, and non-traditional solutions.
  • Finance Stream
    • ASIS’s Finance graduates will be exposed to three key areas of financial support; management accounting, divisional resource management, and departmental finance. The advice provided by ASIS finance professionals contributes to real-world outcomes.

Training & development
