Kulith Rabel

There are several reports I run and publish throughout the week, and they illustrate information unique to Supply Chain activities such as outstanding items, ETAs on deliveries of items onsite, performance of suppliers and so on.

5.00 AM

I am an early bird, so I am usually up before my alarm goes off. I have a quick shower, pack my lunch, make a coffee for my commute, get ready and I am out of my house in about 30-40 minutes. I drive myself to work and it takes about 35 minutes to get to work. I usually put on a podcast or listen to some music, depending on my mood that morning.

6.30 AM

I have made my walk from my car to the main gate. I greet security at the main gate, clock in, and make my way to my office building. I put my lunch in the fridge, set up my work laptop at my desk and go through my calendar, and to-do task list which I update COB on the previous day and check my emails.

7.00 AM

The first reminder that I have set myself is to run a weekly report and publish the data to inform the Supply Chain department. There are several of these reports I run and publish throughout the week, and they illustrate information unique to Supply Chain activities such as outstanding items, ETAs on deliveries of items onsite, the performance of suppliers and so on. These reports help Supply Chain keep track of their tasks and follow up if necessary.

9.00 AM

Usually, by this time, I get a bit peckish. I open my snack drawer and pull out a muesli bar, and a couple of biscuits and make myself a cup of tea. I also take some time to have a chat with my manager and discuss any issues that have been raised for Supply Chain to work out. We go on to discuss our plan of attack and how best we can resolve the issue with minimal effect on our daily tasks.

11.00 AM

By this time, I am fully engaged in the tasks I have planned on completing for the day. In addition, I also attend to any issues that my colleagues may have with Excel spreadsheets or SharePoint lists.

12.30 PM

It is lunch time! Lunch is almost always leftovers from last night’s dinner. However, some nights, dinner is so good that I do not end up with leftovers, so I head down to our lovely canteen and grab some teriyaki chicken on rice.

2.00 PM

After sending/replying to some more emails, it is time for our weekly meeting with the Procurement team to receive updates on things happening around the world affecting our Supply Chain, any updates regarding our suppliers and updates from our leadership team.

3.30 PM

By this, I am closing out all my tasks that I had planned for the day and updating my to-do list as I go on. I take this time to review my task list as well and see how I am progressing with closing out my actions.

4.15 PM

I have a quick chat with my manager, and my colleagues and clock off and head home.

5.30 PM

After another 35-minute drive back home, I put some shorts on and push myself to go for a run or the gym.

7.00 PM

I take a shower, cool off and get ready for dinner. My partner and I enjoy cooking together. Almost every night, we share the load and cook dinner together. We then enjoy our dinner while watching some Netflix. I love my dessert, so I make sure I have some cake or ice cream without fail with some tea after dinner.

9.00 PM

Time to squeeze in a couple of games of FIFA on my PS5 before it’s time for bed.

10.00 PM

By this time, I am usually packing my lunch for tomorrow and getting ready for bed, ready for another day at work.
