Your role

AstraZeneca Australia have a great opportunity for a recent graduate to join AstraZeneca and develop their experiences working with a global leader, committed to improving patient outcomes.

As a Graduate Automation Engineer, you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the maintenance and improvement of the electrical, control, and vision systems and infrastructure in support of production requirements and site operations. You will enjoy the backing of a supportive team, opportunities for personal development and all necessary training and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates and undertakes electrical, control systems and infrastructure modifications, following relevant procedures to ensure that equipment is maintained in its validated state
  • Provides expert electrical engineering advice to other departments, particularly Production for resolving complex technical issues and driving continuous improvements  
  • Identify, plan and undertake process improvement projects to time and budget, including preparing validation protocols and documentation, and completion of validation activities.
  • Participates in functional safety design review, risk assessment, hazard identification, machine safety and process safety workshops. 
  • Design and implementation of automation safety systems (e.g. safety relays, safety PLC, generates safety software module specification

About you

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or working towards) in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Automation Engineering with a strong academic record
  • Passion for computer programming and digital innovation
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organisational skill
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A can-do attitude and curious mind
  • A team player
  • Some work experience and familiarity with Siemens PLCs (Step 7 + WinCC for HMIs), robotic systems, and networking design would be advantageous
