6.30 AM

I wake up and begin my day. I like to watch or read the news while I eat my breakfast. Not long after, I’m getting dressed and ready for work.

8.00 AM

I’m a natural early bird and like to start work at 8:00 am or 8:30 am. The first thing I do is respond to emails in my inbox. I check in with my supervisor to discuss priorities and I ensure my to-do list is updated so I know what is new and what needs to be reprioritised. Although, with the ever-changing and fast-paced nature of my work, I am flexible with my schedule to respond to ad hoc requests.

10.00 AM

I have a virtual meeting with the wider team where we brainstorm ideas and exchange updates on projects we are working on. I value this time of being able to share ideas in a team setting and collaborate on projects.

12.00 PM

It’s lunchtime!  On days I’m in the office I have lunch with fellow graduates in the program, who have become some of my closest friends.

2.00 PM

I am away from my typical desk, at a photo shoot. The photoshoots that involve scenic outdoor environments and wildlife are exciting – especially when a furry friend can be spotted!

4.30 PM

On a typical day I finish work between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm, which is a benefit of starting early – more daylight to enjoy in the evening.

5.30 PM

My favourite way to unwind after work is walking the Bridge to Bridge loop around Lake Burley Griffin. While the panoramic views of the lake and national attractions are year-round, the walk is particularly striking in Autumn, with deciduous trees overflowing with bright red, orange and gold foliage.

7.00 PM

Once I get home, it’s time to get dressed and ready for dinner with friends. It’s always fun to get together mid-week for a catch-up. Even if dinner is as casual as sharing a pizza on nearby benches, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the blink of an eye, the day is done. It’s time to rest and recharge for another exciting day ahead. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
