How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
While in tendering I am enjoying a pretty standard 8.30am to 5.00pm day. However, on site I was doing 10+ hour days quite frequently.

Usually it was a 10-12 hour day at peak times and we get to work from home one day a week.

Generally, pretty good. 8:30 to 5pm on quiet days or to ~6pm if it is busy because of the workload.
Graduate, Sydney
Extremely flexible and accommodating.

I am in a corporate role and so have very good work-life balance. My manager is very flexible and accommodating. I have noticed that site-based staff have much longer hours, even in roles where it seems unnecessary and is just an issue of being under-staffed.

I have found the company to be extremely flexible with individual needs. Management is very understanding and allow a great work around with wfh and also not needing to go beyond set hours. There are times when more hours are needed, however I have found this balances out and am happy to put in extra effort as I have a great manager.

James if very understanding and is willing to allow for flexibility in my schedule. I usually start between 7:30am and 8:00am and finish between 5:00pm or 5:30pm.

I work on a project on a 10 and 4 roster doing 12 hour shifts. The hours are not flexible at all.

In my current office-based role, the work hours are from 8am to 5pm and a recent flexibility policy has allowed us to begin working from home one day per week, which has made a huge difference to the flexibility of my role and my work life balance. In my site-based role, the work hours were from 6:45am to 5pm and flexibility was very limited. As working from home is not possible in a site-based position, we were supposed to receive a rostered day off once per quarter in line with the new flexibility policy. So far, I have not seen a single employee make use of this day and it has not been encouraged on the ground.

Unfortunately, being in a site role, work hours are quite long and early (6.30AM to 5PM). I do not mind the early start if the end time could be shifted appropriately, say 6.30AM to 3PM so 8 hours of work is still completed per day that would be better for work-life balance.

Slightly inflexible.

As a site based role, I often find myself completing massive amount of overtime. The daily work hours are not that flexible, however annual leave is very accessible.
Graduate, Brisbane
On average, I do 50 hours per week, not including 2 hours of travel time per day. My current role does not have much flexibility with hours and WFH as I am required on site.

When I'm on site I work 10 hours plus a day, however the quieter days make up for this as I will be able to go home early, or start later - or even work from home and dictate my own schedule according to how busy/ how well i've kept everything up to date
