The Department of Finance is at the heart of the Western Australian public service. We also provide economic advice on energy policy and regulatory reform, and lead an ambitious project to modernise the government's Information Technology infrastructure.

To deliver these services, we employ approximately 1000 people from a range of backgrounds. We have previously employed graduates with degrees majoring in Accounting, Architecture, Arts, Commerce, Communications, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Law, Mathematics, Project Management, and Science. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people with disabilities have been identified as diversity groups lacking within our current workforce and applicants from these diversity groups are strongly encouraged to apply. When determining the more suitable person(s) to be appointed, the selection panel and the Approving Officer may take these business needs into account.

Graduates are employed on a fixed term contract and may be offered permanency subject to the availability of funding and performance. All suitable applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool. This pool will run for 12 months and may be used to fill similar positions that are either permanent or fixed term contract. Please note that being placed in the pool does not guarantee your placement in a position.
